We have a minimum stay of 3 nights, but you may find this too short a stay once you get here! On occasion, with last minute bookings, we can offer stays of two nights. Please contact us for special circumstances.

All major credit cards are accepted; Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB and Union Pay. Please note we do not have currency exchange on the island and all cash transactions must be in Indonesian Rupiah.

Cancellations and No Shows:

a) Cancellations will be accepted with no charge up to 60 days before arrival.
b) Cancellations within 60 days before arrival will be charged 10% of the entire stay.
c) Cancellations within 30 days before arrival will be charged 25% of the entire stay.
d) Cancellations within 14 days before arrival will be charged 100% of the entire stay.
e) Cancellations must be confirmed in writing prior to the minimum notice dates.
f) No refund applicable for no-show, days not used due to early check out or delayed arrivals.

 

In the heart of one of Indonesia’s largest marine conservation areas in the Anambas Archipelago, Bawah Reserve features an abundance of flourishing coral reefs and healthy marine life. All dive sites have similar topography, with a gentle sandy slope going down to approximately 7 metres before a further 25-30 metre depth. For more information, see our Scuba Diving page
The standard occupancy is 2 adults. We can add a maximum of one additional bed. There is an additional bed charge of $450 (5-12 years with no spa inclusion) for children. The adult extra bed charge is $600 (12 years +) USD per night for the third occupant. See all our Pricing.

Due to the intimate size and nature of the resort, children must be a minimum of five years old. Parents must be aware that our suites are designed to accommodate only 2 people. We can add one additional bed per suite for $450/$600 USD per night (dependent on the age of the child). Our two-bedroom Treehouse Lodge, whilst not on the beach, is perfect for families with younger children. Our Tented Beach Suites and Tented Garden Suites, Overwater Bungalows and Pool Villas are all around 30m apart and not connected – so please bear this in mind if you have younger children. Your journey begins in Singapore by chauffeur pick up from your hotel, residence or airport. Our travel coordinator will then escort you by ferry and car to Batam Airport, where you board our private Seaplane (an amphibious, twin-engine aircraft that can land and take-off both on land and on water). After an 80-minute flight, you will land in water at Bawah Reserve. Whilst Singapore is the start of the journey for many of our Bawah Reserve guests, there is always an option to travel via Jakarta, Bali, or other destinations in Indonesia.

The round trip from Batam to Bawah and back costs US$800 per person. If you’re coming from Singapore, however, our round trip transport package costs US$950. This includes car service to the ferry terminal, escort by ferry to Batam with expedited passport clearance and car service to the airport in Batam. Please visit our Location page for more information. 
We allow limited mooring at Bawah Reserve for those who will be our guests and stay with us overnight. You can find more information about Moorings from our blog. Maximum size of boat to enter our lagoon is 85m and max draft is 2.5m and max mast height is 15m.

Passport and Identities:
Please note that Passports and Identities will be required by Island Security Team as a form of registration and reporting to the immigration department in Indonesia. The mooring is chargeable at USD$5 / foot (subjected to 11% government tax and 10% service charge) per night for mooring only. All mooring proceeds are donated to the Anambas Foundation for marine conservation efforts.

Ashore requirements:
  • All guests who come ashore must be over the age of five years.
  • We kindly request that the shuttle between the yacht and jetty to be by own tender.


More Information
  • Anchoring, fishing and the collection of any dead or alive marine life up to 600 m from the house reef is strictly forbidden by law.
  • The access to our islands is on request and prior booking is required. Please contact Reservations for bookings.
  • Black waters to be drained outside the lagoon and at a minimum distance of 600 meters from the house reef.
  • Bilge pumps are required to be activated outside the lagoon.
  • Do not dispose of any non-biodegradable waste e.g. plastics, cans, etc. in the lagoon, at sea or near the islands.
  • Kindly refrain from playing loud music during your time at Bawah Reserve. This is to ensure privacy and comfort of all guests.
  • Kindly note that Bawah Reserve is not licensed to sell any fuel to any boats/vessels/yachts.
  • If you would like to moor at Bawah Reserve, please send us the expected dates, number of nights, number of guests and we will check availability and confirm accordingly.

Bawah follows Singapore Standard Time. The time zone in Singapore is GMT +8.
At just two degrees north of the Equator, Bawah has a hot tropical climate, with average daily temperatures ranging from 26°C to 29°C, and two distinct seasons: the dry southwest monsoon from June to October and the wet northeast monsoon from November to March. Days are generally sunny, and when it rains the showers are sudden and heavy but short-lived with plenty of blue skies in between. It has half the yearly precipitation of Singapore. Humidity ranges from around 65% to 96%.

All guests are allowed a maximum of 15kg luggage per person (including hand luggage). We will take care of your laundry at Bawah so pack light, cool and comfortable is the best option. If you are travelling with more than 15kg of luggage, we would highly recommend you leave a bag/s at your hotel, or at Changi Airport in Singapore for collection upon your return. Alternatively, we can also store any luggage in Batam with a maximum of 20kg per person, which is included in your ferry journey. If you exceed, the ferry company will charge for excess luggage of $1 SGD per kilo. No one piece of luggage can exceed 30kg.
You must be in possession of a Passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and have tickets for your onward travel. Although more than 80 nationalities can enter Indonesia with a free 30-day Tourist Visa upon arrival, we recommend you check with your embassy or the Indonesian consulate in your home country for visa requirements. WhatsApp and light emails will all be fine – Don’t expect to be able to stream movies or download large attachments!

From various water sport activities (kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkelling, diving) around the marine eco-system, to a choice of four jungle hikes on two islands through the lush fauna. Bawah Reserve has 13 beaches and each of our three lagoons has a unique character. You can visit each island by boat, kayak or paddleboard and can even enjoy picnics and secluded private dining experiences on all of them. Visit our Play page for all available activities. Bawah has several outlets for Dining with two restaurants and two bars as well as an array of unique experiences including beach picnics, BBQs, in-room dining and paddleboard breakfasts to name a few. With zero light pollution, you will be amazed at how bright the stars are-perfect for Stargazing Relax by the cooling infinity swimming pool or visit Aura Spa & Wellebing for your daily pampering, or take a yoga, Pilates or meditation class. We also have an air-conditioned library full of books and games for your use during your stay.
Yes, we do have a main pool and private pools in our two, three & four bedroom villas.
Yes. Our fully-equipped, indoor gym comes complete with cardio equipment and weight equipment such as TRX, boxing, kettlebells and stunning lagoon views.

Yes. All our Suites and Villas are air-conditioned and include bed ceiling fans.

Our Wallace Library offers air conditioning, a long table and a wall-mounted smart TV that’s perfect for video conferencing and presentations.
Yes! We provide both still and sparkling water at Bawah for all our guests in the rooms, restaurants and on request.
Yes, nestled amongst the forest on the east side of Bawah Island, Aura Spa offers guests a relaxing sanctuary. A range of treatments are available including full body massages, facials, scrubs and nail service. *One daily spa treatment per person is included in your room package.
Yes, we do provide in villa dining services. It comes with an additional tray charge of IDR 375.000++ per tray, per couple.
Unfortunately not. Due to the terrain of our islands, wheelchair access is not available.
Bawah Reserve is an officially protected marine area in which anchoring, fishing (up to 500m from the barrier reefs) and the collection of any dead or alive coral and shells are prohibited.

There are mosquitoes at Bawah – but not a problem! We do provide natural mosquito repellent in our rooms and repellents are also available for purchase in the boutique. There is also a natural system on the island, which attracts mosquitoes to lay eggs, then flushes them out before they can hatch.

There are a few Indonesian laws you need to consider: 2 pieces of paperwork are required from the couple:
  • Registration to the local church
  • Registration to the Civil Authority (If wish to record the marriage in Indonesia)

    Yes, we are able to accommodate all types of dietary requirements including vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerant and gluten-free. Please note that our kitchens are not 100% gluten-free. Likewise, we are not a registered Halal or Kosher kitchen but we can cook accordingly. Please inform us of any dietary requirements or preferences when making your reservation.

    Yes, there is a doctor and a clinic available 24/7 on the island, operated by FULLERTON HEALTH.
    There is no Malaria on the island, but please consult your GP for advice on inoculations and medication required for travelling to Indonesia.
    Expectant mothers in normal health and with no pregnancy complications are not considered incapacitated until 28 weeks of pregnancy. In case of pregnancy over 28-36 weeks, medical clearance issued 7 days prior to commencement of travel should be submitted.

    Due to our remote location, we would not recommend Bawah to expectant mothers over 28 weeks of pregnancy.
    Buggy service is available at Bawah Reserve for easier accessibility. We will require advance notice and the dimensions of the wheelchair to prepare and make the necessary arrangements for assistance on our seaplane.
